In order to trade on SEM, you need to open a CDS A/C with a licensed stockbroker (see page www.stockexchangeofmauritius.com/about-us/find-a-broker) and then place your trade order with your broker. Similarly, if you wish to use the mySEM mobile app to trade, your stockbroker will do your registration process to access mySEM via a personalised username/password.

 

Purchasing/Selling your Securities

Upon purchasing securities, you can pay by cheque/bank transfer, up to 3 days after the transaction. Upon selling securities, simply instruct your stockbroker by email/phone and receive payment 3 business days later. Buying or selling securities involves fees - see page https://www.stockexchangeofmauritius.com/regulations-governance/transaction-fees. Share registries process dividends, interest payments and maturity proceeds, and dividends are generally paid via bank transfer or cheque sent to your registered CDS account address.
